Cast-on a multiple of 4 + 2 symmetry stitches 
Row 1, 5 (color A): knit all stitches
Row 2, 8 (color A): *purl all stitches
Row 3 (color B): *k2, sl2 pwise wyib; rep from*, k2
Row 4 (color B): *p2, sl2 pwise wyif; rep from*, p2
Row 6 (color C): *sl2 pwise wyif, p2; rep from*, sl2 pwise wyif
Row 7 (color C): *sl2 pwise wyib, k2; rep from*, sl2 pwise wyib
Repeat rows 3 - 8
It may look like Fair Isle or Intarsia, but it's none of the above. In Fair Isle you alternate yarn colors in one row. On the other hand, Intarsia supposes that you have large blocks of each color yarn. And in this simple pattern you just knit, purl and slip stitches with one color yarn in a row.
